Certificate of criminal records
We can obtain the certificate of criminal records issued by the Romanian authorities ONLY if we have a POWER-OF-ATTORNEY from the holder of the certificate (not from a third party).
In addition to the aforementioned power of attorney, the holder of the criminal record certificate must also provide us with a copy of his valid Romanian identity card or his valid Romanian passport (passport only if the holder's domicile is abroad, and this is mentioned in the Romanian passport, under "Domicile/Residence").
In the case of persons who are not Romanian citizens (foreign citizens), it is necessary to provide us with a copy of a valid passport and a copy of the last residence permit/registration certificate in Romania (if applicable).
The power of attorney can be authenticated at the Romanian Consulate or at a notary (in the latter case, depending on the country in which the notary is practicing, the Hague Apostille affixed to the power of attorney may or may not be required).
